Safari Rose Luxury Yacht

The Safari Rose is not only the largest yacht on Lake Tahoe, but the most luxurious. This classic vessel is the epitome of style and elegance. Built in 1959 for the 3M Corporation, Safari Rose has six bathrooms, a dining room, a heated salon with leather and teak, a full bar, a beautiful enclosed fantail, a sun deck and even a cozy fireplace. She's been to the Great Lakes, cruised the eastern seaboard to Florida, toured the Caribbean and has sailed through the Panama Canal all the way up to the Puget Sound and Alaska. At 80-feet long and 20-feet wide, Safari Rose is without doubt the most graceful yacht of its size on Lake Tahoe. She awaits you for an unforgettable outing on this spectacular mountain lake, guided by a Coast Guard-licensed Master and an experienced crew.

We welcome every opportunity to share the Safari Rose with you and your special guests. We invite you to join us on one of our many tours of North America's alpine lake. Choose from one of our guided tours of Lake Tahoe's magnificent shoreline and lakefront attractions, including special sunset cruises, or book an exclusive charter for your wedding, reception, corporate function or other special event.

Guest Testimonials

Went on the sunset cruise. If the weather is cooperative this is not to be missed. Great crew, stunning views! A highlight of our trip to Tahoe!

Loved the sunset cruise

Had a great sunset cruise on the Safari Rose! The crew was great and provided great drinks, appetizers, commentary and blankets to enjoy the scenery. Kids enjoyed feeding Jonathan the seagull. Loved the unique boat - highly recommend this!

Outstanding cruise

I did the cruise today under clear blue skies and glorious sunshine. The crew is great, the commentary is informative and the food and drink is outstanding. I was struck by the sheer beauty and serenity-it was even better than I’d hoped for. I came all the way from Australia to tick this off the bucket list and the staff at Tahoe Cruises was great on email and phone with the planning and on the day itself.

They use a contract photographer to take your picture and you’re able to purchase from the dock post-cruise. I didn’t intend to buy but the photography was so good I was happy to hand over $20.

Thank you Tahoe Cruises for a magnificent day on Lake Tahoe.

Beautiful Day on the Water

We were staying at LT Vac Resort which is next door to the marina. Boarding was easy and Captain Clark and Crew were very helpful. After boarding we went to top of the boat to enjoy the views. Weather was in the high 50’s, Sunny and the only time a light blanket was need was while moving fast. Blankets are provide. Water was smooth and very little wind. (The next day’s winds were hitting 60mph). Crew were visible if help was needed, but they gave you the space needed to just enjoy the day. The 60 year old Safari Rose still held its elegance and history from bygone days. There were 59 people sailing on the 80’ boat and it was not crowded. Cruising through Lake Tahoe and the beautiful Emerald Bay. Fannette Island is bigger than it looks & beautiful up close. The Tea House proudly still sits at the highest point. We had taken the hike down to Vikingsholm the day prior & saw it from there. There’s a few places of interest in Emerald Bay. EB once was a glacier hundreds of years ago & after melting EB was formed. So much history and information given throughout our tour. Great 3 hours on the water. Highly recommend. Cruise taken 10/22/18.
